Homeland Security Secretary Compares Antifa to Terrorist Groups
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem criticized Antifa during a roundtable discussion with reporters at the White House, likening them to terrorist organizations such as ISIS. She expressed gratitude to the new journalists present, emphasizing the importance of telling stories that often go unreported by mainstream media.
Noem stated that the Antifa network is as organized as groups like MS-13, Hezbollah, and Hamas, arguing that it causes significant harm to the nation. This sentiment was underscored by her recent visit to Portland, where tension has been high due to ongoing protests outside ICE facilities. She noted that the administration has arrested numerous Antifa members during President Trump’s term, including the girlfriend of an Antifa founder, as authorities seek to uncover more details about this so-called “domestic terrorist” organization.
“These individuals don’t just want to intimidate law enforcement and the media; they want to harm them,” Noem said, suggesting that their ultimate goal is to disrupt American life. She added that the president stands firmly against their actions, which only seek to jeopardize the safety and stability that many families desire.
President Trump opened the roundtable, reiterating concerns about Antifa, labeling them a left-wing terrorist group, and hinting at future announcements regarding the group. He also responded positively when asked about designating Antifa as a foreign terrorist organization, signaling a willingness to take that step if deemed beneficial.
Various officials, including FBI Director Kash Patel and Attorney General Pam Bondi, participated in the discussion. Reporters present shared chilling accounts of their encounters with Antifa’s violent tactics, reinforcing the notion that this issue has not been adequately explored by traditional media.
One reporter thanked the president for recognizing the seriousness of the Antifa threat, reiterating, “Antifa is real. It’s a threat.”
