DHS Secretary Mayorkas Endorses Senate Deal to Expand Immigration

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas appears to support a deal being negotiated to expand overall immigration into the United States as illegal immigration hits record highs under President Joe Biden’s watch. is.

The deal, negotiated by Sen. James Lankford (R-Okla.), Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.), and Sen. Krysten Sinema (Iowa-Ariz.), lowers annual legal immigration levels. It would require the Department of Homeland Security to divert thousands of border crossers into the United States. Expediting work permits for border crossers released into the U.S. interior every few days and providing taxpayer-funded lawyers to unaccompanied alien children (UACs), among other things.

In written testimony to the House Homeland Security Committee regarding the articles of impeachment filed against Mayorkas, Mayorkas appeared to support the Senate’s agreement.

Mayorkas: “We need legislative solutions, and only Congress can provide them.” write:

Over the past few months, I have had the opportunity to join a bipartisan group of U.S. senators to provide technical and operational expertise in support of efforts to strengthen our nation’s border security. These efforts will create important new enforcement tools and bring significant changes to our borders. [Emphasis added]

Mayorkas’ support for the deal comes after President Joe Biden also supported the deal and told senators he would “sign it” if it passed Congress.

However, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-Louisiana) has vowed to oppose the deal.

“Border ‘closure’ authorities that allow even one illegal border crossing are not the starting point. Thousands every day is crazy. That number has to be zero,” said House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-Louisiana). I have written On Twitter.

As Breitbart News reported, the deal will help the Biden administration’s ultimate goal of significantly expanding the foreign-born population to record levels, a boon for both Democrats and Wall Street.

The number of foreign-born people in the United States is expected to exceed 50 million this year, the largest number in U.S. history.
