DHS Confirms Fatal Shooting during Arrest of Illegal Alien in L.A.

The Department of Homeland Security reported on Tuesday that federal agents fatally shot an illegal alien during an attempted arrest in Los Angeles. This incident occurred as the suspect reportedly used a vehicle as a weapon against the agents.

DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin provided preliminary details to Blaze News, noting that the individual targeted had previously avoided capture.

“Our officers, following their training, discharged their weapons to protect public safety and themselves,” McLaughlin stated.

According to her, “ICE officers, with the help of U.S. Marshals, attempted to apprehend the suspect following standard procedures. The suspect drove his vehicle towards the agents, trying to escape. Fearing for safety, law enforcement fired in self-defense. The suspect was shot in the elbow, while one agent sustained an injury from a ricochet.” Both are currently hospitalized.

McLaughlin attributed the increase in incidents involving attacks on federal employees to political rhetoric, criticizing Democrats for what she considers a rise in assaults and labeling immigration raids as immoral and illegal.

“There has been over a 1,000 percent increase in assaults against officers—including vehicle ramming incidents involving illegal aliens. We urge sanctuary city politicians, activists, and the media to temper their language and refrain from inciting violence against ICE,” she added.

As tensions rise in Los Angeles, the Trump administration has intensified efforts to deport undocumented individuals in sanctuary cities. During recent protests against ICE, a crowd gathered near a federal building in downtown Los Angeles, but access to the area was blocked by police.
