Former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) has revealed that her father, former Vice President Dick Cheney, plans to vote for Vice President Kamala Harris in the next presidential election.
During the period Interview and Alanticreporter Mark Leibovich asked Cheney if she knew who her father would vote for and if she wanted to “tell” the former vice president “who he's voting for.”
“Your father, Dick Cheney, has been a beloved figure among Democrats for many years,” Leibovich said. “If you know who he supports, who he will vote for, can you tell us who he will vote for?”
“Dick Cheney will vote for Kamala Harris,” Liz Cheney acknowledged.
“Those are words I never expected to hear,” Leibovich said.
The former Wyoming congresswoman confirmed that her father would be voting for Harris over former President Donald Trump, but this comes after she had previously announced that she would be voting for Harris.
Speaking at an event at Duke University's Sanford School of Public Policy, Liz Cheney said she would not vote for Trump, citing the “danger” he poses, and would instead vote for Harris.
Liz Cheney previously Explained She criticized Harris as a “radical liberal who wants to raise taxes and take away guns and health insurance.” But after the January 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol, Cheney slammed Trump, saying he “organized a mob” and “incited the mob.”

The former vice president, who served under former President George W. Bush, appears in his daughter's campaign ad as he runs for reelection in 2022, arguing that “there has never been a greater threat to our country than Donald Trump.”
In our 246-year history, there has never been a man more of a threat to our country than Donald Trump. He is a coward, and no real man would lie to his supporters. He lost an election. And a big one. I know it, he knows it, and I think deep down, most Republicans know it too.
The Cheney family's decision to vote for Harris comes as they have previously been at odds with the Biden administration over policy. According to deadline.
