Judge Denies Diddy’s Request Amid Trial Developments

On Tuesday, Judge Arun Subramanian turned down Sean “Diddy” Combs’ request for a correction of what he termed an erroneous sentence, just before his ex-girlfriend was set to be cross-examined.

Last week, the judge heard testimony from Briana “Bana” Bongolan, a friend of Cathy Ventura. During her account, she mentioned a troubling incident from September 2016, where Diddy reportedly hung from a balcony on the 17th floor. However, her reliability came into question when she struggled to recall certain details, including the specific drugs involved at the time.

Diddy’s Legal Team’s Claims

According to Diddy’s attorneys, prosecutors supposedly submitted misleading testimony in a letter dated June 7, which was later acquired by news outlets. They accused Cathy and Bana of presenting “clearly false” information regarding the balcony incident and suggested this was a tactic to push a misleading narrative in court.

Despite these claims, Judge Subramanian determined that there was no interference with the testimony during the trial. He noted that the defense had the opportunity to challenge Bongolan’s credibility effectively. The judge asserted that no bias existed against the evidence that supported the defense’s position.

The defense team argued that Diddy couldn’t raise these concerns until Bongolan’s testimony had taken place and contended that she had misled herself. They maintained that the government should have recognized the potential falsity of her statements.

On the other hand, prosecutors defended Bongolan’s account, stating there was no perjury involved. They attributed her inconsistent statements to confusion, errors, or unreliable memories. Notably, Bongolan acknowledged that she couldn’t recall every detail of the events.

Ex-Girlfriend’s Testimony

After Bongolan’s testimony, Diddy’s ex-girlfriend, who used the pseudonym Jane, took the stand. She recounted how she met the rapper in 2021 and their relationship that lasted until Diddy’s arrest in September 2024.

During her testimony, Jane described being coerced into engaging in what she referred to as “Hotel Nights,” which were extended sessions lasting from a day to several days. Diddy would watch while she was compelled to have sexual encounters with other men.

Jane further revealed that she encountered material detailing similar experiences to her own, in relation to Kathy’s sexual abuse lawsuit. She became emotional on the stand, recalling how surreal and distressing it was to read about her own nightmare. “It felt like I was reading my story,” she stated, overwhelmed by empathy for Cathy.

Testimony from Jane spanned several days, with her cross-examination beginning on Tuesday.
