The WNBA was in the spotlight this past Sunday, particularly with the All-Star festivities taking place in Chicago.
On social media, Chicago Sky’s Dijonai Carrington made a bold claim regarding her ex-girlfriend, Nalyssa Smith. It seems Smith, a standout forward, had romantic involvements with other WNBA players before their split last year.
Carrington specifically pointed out Dejah Kelly and Aaliyah Nye, saying in her post, “Moms want to be funny today, so let me be hilarious too! Yes, Narissa cheated on me with Dejah Kelly and Aaliyah Nye +++.”
The reasons behind Carrington’s public sharing about her past relationship with Smith, which began in 2020 while they both played for Baylor University, remain unclear.
After college, their relationship continued briefly when they were teammates at the Wings during the 2025 season.
Smith, Kelly, and Nye have yet to respond to these accusations.
The new details present a starkly different narrative surrounding the couple’s breakup compared to what was initially reported when they announced their separation last year.
Carrington had mentioned in November 2025, “We are good friends, but we are no longer together,” adding, “It was a really good relationship. We just grew in different directions.”
This social media revelation could add an interesting dynamic to upcoming games, particularly when Carrington’s Sky match up against Smith, Kelly, and Nye later in the season.
The Sky are set to face the Aces on Saturday, with Carrington, Smith, and Kelly all expected to play. Chicago will also compete against Nye and the Atlanta Dream on September 19th.
Though Carrington has been sidelined due to a foot injury, she has recovered fully and is anticipated to make her debut after the All-Star break.
