Diplomat Dismissed After Being Found in a Hidden Relationship with CCP Official's Daughter

US Diplomat Dismissed Over Secret Affair with Chinese National

Daniel Choi, a diplomat at the US State Department, was exposed via hidden camera for having a clandestine romantic involvement with the daughter of a Chinese Communist Party member, leading to his dismissal over potential espionage concerns.

Choi reportedly told an undercover journalist from James O’Keefe’s organization, “I rebelled against the government for love.” This revelation was later shared by O’Keefe Media Group.

In light of this incident, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio advised President Donald Trump to terminate Choi’s employment, a recommendation that was subsequently approved.

The State Department released a statement saying, “After a review by the President, a Foreign Service Officer has been fired for failing to disclose a romantic relationship with a Chinese national linked to the Communist Party.”

A spokesperson noted that this termination marks a significant action, referencing President Trump’s Executive Order 14211, which facilitated such layoffs. The order emphasizes that all officials involved in US foreign policy must operate under the President’s guidance, and failure to do so can result in disciplinary actions, including termination.

The announcement specified that Choi had admitted to hiding his relationship with a Chinese citizen, mentioning on camera that he was uncertain whether she might be a spy. He acknowledged her father as a confirmed member of the Communist Party.

Additionally, the State Department remarked, “The Foreign Service Officer was expected to report this relationship to security officials but expressed, ‘I rebelled against the government out of love.’ As a result, the Secretary recommended separation for not adequately supporting the President’s foreign policy.”

During his hidden camera interaction, Choi mentioned that the woman’s father appeared to be a significant educational figure, implying a deep connection to the Communist Party, stating, “She could have been a spy; I just don’t know.”
