Director Kash Patel Dismisses FBI Agents Connected to Legal Actions Against Trump

FBI Director Kash Patel has removed agents involved in efforts during the Biden administration to prosecute Donald Trump, his electoral opponent.

Patel has dismissed several senior agents linked to two investigations concerning Trump. This includes the special agent leading the Atlanta office, the deputy assistant director of the New York office, and a former special agent from New Orleans, who has since taken on other roles. Two high-ranking officials confirmed this to a news outlet.

In Miami, as many as six agents were let go due to their roles in the FBI’s Mar-a-Lago raid, which featured over 30 agents alongside CNN cameras.

“These are troubling times for our nation. My cherished hometown, Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, is under attack, raided, and occupied by a significant number of FBI agents,” Trump remarked during that period. “Nothing like this has occurred to a sitting president before.”

Investigators also rifled through Melania Trump’s wardrobe at Mar-a-Lago, drawing backlash over agents searching personal items.

Emails released in December 2025 show that FBI officials were worried about insufficient probable cause for the 2022 Mar-a-Lago raid, but the investigation continued after getting legal backing from Biden’s Justice Department.

Additional agents who were terminated were part of a larger “Arctic Frost” inquiry regarding Trump.

Patel criticized the “corrupt” FBI agents behind the investigation, revealing that they requested gratitude trophies for their work. At the time, mainstream media portrayed Trump as likely to lose his position or, if not imprisoned, be sidelined from future elections.

“People question why I labeled the old FBI a sick institution. This exemplifies corruption when you believe no one is watching. The trophy celebrating Arctic Frost was created by FBI staff,” Patel shared on a social media platform, posting a photo of the trophy and stating, “I dismantled CR-15 and removed the corrupt officials involved. So, when traditional media claims that President Trump’s FBI made major changes and fired staff, my response is simply: Yes, we did.”

Trump has also called for the dismissal of “corrupt” FBI agents tied to the Arctic Frost investigation aimed at him, along with Republican groups and officials.

“These FBI agents are outright scum, in some respects akin to the insurgents in places like Portland, Minnesota, and Los Angeles,” Trump tweeted in early January.

This unexpected series of firings is quite rare and represents a notable triumph for Trump and those advocating for the removal of politically biased officials from law enforcement.
