Disgraced former Congressman Anthony Weiner is eyeing a new political run, this time setting his sights on the New York City Council.
“I'm thinking about it. I'm wrestling with it,” Weiner, 60, said Saturday on his weekly 77W ABC radio show. New York City and State reported.
“I love doing this work in radio, but I also want to be helpful,” he said.

Mr. Weiner has not held public office in more than a decade, since he was ousted from his seat in the New York Assembly in 2011 over a sexting scandal involving multiple women and minors.
Two years later, he was embroiled in another sexting scandal while running for mayor.
He was released in 2019 after being sentenced to 21 months in prison for sexting a 15-year-old girl in North Carolina, but during his sentence he described himself as a “very sick man.” I called.
Weiner, who has been to rehab for sex addiction, was married to Huma Abedin, a close aide to Hillary Clinton when she ran against Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential election.
Investigators searched his laptop for sick messages, including a selfie, that he sent while his then-4-year-old son was in the room, in connection with an investigation into the Democratic candidate's email scandal. An email was discovered.
Following this discovery, the FBI reopened its investigation into Clinton days before the 2016 election. Clinton blamed this for her disastrous loss to Trump.
Within about a week, the FBI declined to continue its investigation into Clinton.
If the sex pest formerly known as “Carlos Danger” were to make a comeback in politics, he would be vying for Carlina Rivera's City Council seat, which will be vacant after her term ends in 2025.
Weiner acknowledged Saturday that personal baggage could hinder his chances.
“It's a lot, a lot, about my past, about my addiction, about my acting, about my career,” he said.
“But we Democrats are always in a moment where it seems like we're having knife fights with library books.”
