Matthew Judon is arguing with two hosts from Boston’s WEEI radio station.
Judon called out hosts Andy Gresh and Christian Fauria for attacking him and questioning his character and intentions toward fans while he was pending a contract with the Patriots.
“When I said [we] I don’t have pads on, but besides me signing autographs and throwing balls to the fans for hours, why don’t people come and talk to me?” Judon wrote to X on Tuesday.
“And here’s my tweet: You motherfuckers, just sit down and talk.”
Judon, 31, has been seeking a new contract this offseason and has publicly promoted the idea of a trade and has since been seen engaging in animated exchanges with new head coach Jerrod Mayo and front-office leader Elliot Wolff.
Earlier this week, Gresh and Fauria essentially called Judon a hypocrite for interacting with fans during training camp despite ignoring the team’s fans the rest of the season.
“Matt Judon, what are you scared of? … What are you worried about? Are you lying to the fans again? Are you going to run around tomorrow trying to curry favor?” Gresh asked. Awful Announcing covers.
“You take people you’ve completely ignored and take them to the back of the football facility in a golf cart and then as soon as the game starts at 11 o’clock, you’re going to come out and stretch. What? You know, he had it a little bit his way last year. Now he’s not. Now he’s making the excuse, ‘Just ask those guys.'”
“Do you know one thing Matt Judon wouldn’t say if Bill Belichick were here? Ask Bill… he wouldn’t have any. This just goes to show that Judon puts himself first. He takes advantage of all the fans, and when that doesn’t work, he takes drugs and hides. And then the next time he’s in front of the media, he’s going to say, ‘Why don’t I go after those guys and ask them? Why can’t I get my share?'”
Fauria, who won two Super Bowl championships as New England’s tight end from 2002-05, continued to play on a similar wavelength.
“At the beginning of camp, I was running up to helpless fans who had nothing to do with this,” Fauria said.
“You’re out there running around, throwing the ball, playing a big role. Huge, big setup. It’s not who you are. You don’t care. You’re just doing it to gain favor and to show you’re bigger than football.”
“And they say, ‘Why don’t you do it anymore?’ ‘Nothing has changed.’ They actually say, ‘We only do it with pads.’ They have pads and you have pads. If you’re telling me that, that’s like the biggest lie ever. Hey, what’s changed? Nothing has changed.”Only do this if you are wearing pads.“I was wearing a pad today. Do you really think we’re all that stupid?”
Judon fought back Tuesday night, demanding to go head-to-head with the host team.
On Wednesday, Gresh and Fauria responded to Judon, with Gresh saying the “door is wide open” for the three to talk.
Judon has one year left on his contract.
He recorded 15.5 sacks in 2022 before missing 13 games last season due to injury.
