A Disney official who oversees ABC News has donated multiple times to Kamala Harris’ political campaigns and is reportedly a close friend of the Democratic candidate, raising serious questions about conflicts of interest and the possibility that the September 10 ABC News debate may be rigged against former President Donald Trump.
Dana Walden is co-chairman of Disney Entertainment, overseeing a number of its television divisions, including ABC News and ABC Entertainment. Over the years, she has donated multiple times to Kamala Harris’ various political campaigns, including her 2020 presidential bid, which fizzled out early in the primaries. The New York Times Report.
She has hosted fundraisers for Harris at her Los Angeles home and reportedly donated $20,000 to support President Biden and the Democratic Party last year.
Even more disturbing is that Walden is reportedly close friends with Kamala Harris and her husband, entertainment lawyer Doug Emhoff, and Harris once said during a 2022 fundraiser that she owes her marriage to Dana Walden and her husband, Matt.
ABC told the paper that Walden, Disney’s highest-ranking television executive, is not involved in editorial decisions.
“ABC News has built a long-standing reputation for journalistic integrity,” the network reportedly said in a statement. “All editorial decisions are made by ABC News management and ABC’s seasoned journalists and producers, who hold themselves to the highest journalistic standards.”
ABC News has been found to have spread fake news about Trump in the past.
During the Trump Administration, news networks aired false reports that Donald Trump had directed Michelle Flynn to contact Russian officials during the 2016 presidential campaign. In reality, Trump issued that directive as president-elect and established international relations during his transition to the White House.
ABC News retracted the report and fired longtime correspondent Bob Ross.
The network is set to air the next presidential debate between Trump and Harris on Sept. 10, moderated by ABC hosts David Muir and Lindsey Davis.
Democrats and their media allies have a history of manipulating debates to favor their preferred candidates.
In 2016, then-Democratic National Committee chair and CNN commentator Donna Brazile leaked classified questions to Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign ahead of a primary debate.
