Disney fans blast ‘obscene’ prices at revamped cake shop: ‘Shockingly offensive’

A new cake shop at Disney's Florida theme park opening this fall has drawn criticism for its high prices, with fans calling the prices of some food items “sneaky” and “disgusting”. There is.

“This price is outrageous,” one person said on Reddit.

The menu was posted outside the bakery, which is not owned by Disney, and listed prices starting at $22, including a slice of cake.

The cake lineup includes Gwendolyn's famous Earl's Court Chocolate Cake ($26 a slice), Oprah's “O” List Mint Chocolate Cake ($24 a slice), and Pumpkin Spice Cinnamon Roll Cake ($22 a slice).

“That's the price of a whole cake at Amoretz at Disney Springs!” another Reddit user said of the price of a slice of cake.

Another added: “$8 for a coke is shockingly offensive even for Disney World.”

“Prices are out of control. Keep in mind this is not a Disney owned or operated restaurant. This is an independent owner charging $32 for a burger. Shame!” one person wrote Said this in a Google review.

The restaurant also offers pies, French pastries, homemade fudge, chocolate truffles, and cookies.

Champagne, wine and beer will also be available.

“There are many eateries offering low-priced, yet high-quality food, including the restaurant right next to this location on Disney's Boardwalk,” Doyle said.

“The sense of anticipation around this location is drawing a lot of attention to the new restaurant and menu, as so many people are walking by and wondering what the new spot will include,” he added.

Many Disney fans predicted that if prices remained high, restaurants wouldn't be open for long.

“I think this store will close within two years, especially once the novelty (if any) wears off,” one person wrote on Reddit.

Another user said: “Can't wait to see what's next for this place when it inevitably closes in 2026.”
