Those planning a visit to the Happiest Place on Earth might want to check if their favorite rides at Disney are operational, as several closures have been recently announced with the summer approaching.
In addition to previously disclosed closures, attractions like Pixie Hollow and Fantasmic are now added to a growing list at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. This also includes popular rides such as Pirates of the Caribbean and the Blue Bayou restaurant.
According to reports, Disneyland is undergoing some routine renovations in May, which will affect ride availability. For specific details, the park has referred visitors to the Disneyland website.
The Pirates of the Caribbean ride is expected to shut down on May 4, with plans to reopen in early June.
Blue Bayou restaurant, known for its unique ambiance linked to the Pirates ride, will be closed from May 4 to May 20 due to regulatory reasons.
While Pixie Hollow will have select closures on Tuesdays and Thursdays, it will remain open until June 7.
Moreover, “Fantasmic” shows will be temporarily paused on various weekdays through May, with a return scheduled for May 22.
Apart from these closures, other rides such as Buzz Lightyear Astro Blaster and Silly Symphony Swing will also be unavailable but are slated to reopen by early June. Other attractions, including the Disneyland Monorail and Davy Crockett’s Explorer Canoe, just reopened after being inactive for several months.
There’s some silver lining as a few previously closed rides, like the sailing ship Columbia and Pirate’s Lair, began welcoming guests back recently, which is great news for visitors.
The Disneyland website provides updates on daily ride closures, and further comments from Disney are awaited.
