Disturbing footage reveals Charlie Kirk's shooter on a rooftop shortly before and after the deadly incident at UVU.

Footage captured from inside a building at Utah Valley University seems to show the moments before a gunman killed conservative commentator Charlie Kirk on Wednesday.

This video, filmed behind the tent where Kirk was speaking, documents a crowd of about 3,000 people who suddenly dropped for cover when shots rang out.

Interestingly, over the quad, a small dark figure appears to break away from the rooftop and begin moving across it.

Another clip, filmed prior to the shooting, depicts a dark shape lying extended on the roof from where the shots were fired.

“There’s someone on the roof,” someone can be heard saying. “He just ran out there, he ran, and now he’s there.”

Later, Kirk was reported to have been shot while responding to questions about mass shootings involving transgender individuals.

Updates on the shooting of Charlie Kirk

An audience member’s video captured Kirk in his chair as blood spurted from his neck. He collapsed and was quickly assisted by his security team, but he was soon pronounced dead.

As the chaos ensued, emergency dispatchers worked to identify potential suspects. Initially, two individuals were taken into custody, but they were cleared and released.

A dispatcher was heard in an audio clip mentioning that one person had been shot and expressing uncertainty about the shooter’s whereabouts. “How many people have been injured?” was asked, to which the response was, “Only one.”

The suspect was described wearing jeans, a black shirt, and a black vest. Reports indicate he was armed with a long rifle and was positioned on a building east of the library.

Kirk, the founder of a conservative nonprofit organization, was known for his “Proof Me Wrong” debates on university campuses, inviting community members to challenge his views. At the time of his death, he was involved in one of these discussions as part of an American comeback tour.

Kirk is survived by his wife, Erica Franzbe, a former Miss Arizona, and their two young children.
