When emotions take precedence, society faces significant challenges. Recent occurrences suggest that this is already the case, a situation described as the “war on reality” by Christian apologist Frank Turek.
During a discussion with BlazeTV host Allie Beth Stuckey, Turek emphasized the universality of truth, stating, “I don’t have my law of gravity and you have your law of gravity. There’s just gravity. There’s not my laws of logic and your laws of logic. There’s just the laws of logic.”
He went on to critique the notion of subjective truth, asking, “And so when people come around saying, ‘I have my truth; you have your truth,’ I like to say to them, ‘Do you have your own math?’” He insists that there are no personal truths or unique forms of math — only universal principles.
Turek elaborated on the impact of rejecting absolute truth, outlining how this leads to “futile thinking” and, ultimately, a depraved mindset. He noted, “not only are we doing evil, we’re cheering on other people who do it.”
He referenced a recent Massachusetts law allowing late-term abortions, asserting it is celebrated by many, even though there’s often a medical alternative in complicated pregnancies, such as performing a C-section. “But no, if I choose to kill my baby, then it’s a right. That’s madness,” Turek stated.
Stuckey responded, agreeing that this mindset reflects a flawed understanding of human value. She pointed out that value seems to hinge on a woman’s choice, which can shift with her emotions, noting that “you can’t have justice without objective truth.”
