Doctor in Michigan taken into custody in sting after reportedly asking mother if he could engage in sexual activity with her 5-year-old child

Officials report that a Michigan doctor was arrested after an operation linked to attempts to connect online with his 5-year-old daughter through her mother. Dr. William Murdoch was detained following a sting conducted by law enforcement in Port St. Lucie, Florida, as part of an investigation into his interaction with the child’s mother, who had befriended him.

The police indicated that the aim was to assess whether the fictional mother would permit her young daughter to engage in inappropriate behavior with Murdoch. During the probe, unsettling messages were exchanged, outlining the doctor’s alleged intent to manipulate the situation involving the child.

Authorities described the communications as troubling, detailing his explicit intentions regarding the child’s welfare. They noted that his background in medicine inadvertently aided him in his illicit pursuits online.

Subsequent forensic analysis of Murdoch’s iCloud and messaging accounts revealed more concerning discussions, which allegedly included various troubling concepts related to his medical education and darker online activities.

Police disclosed that warrants were issued quickly for his arrest, asserting he solicited participation from his parents in sexually harmful acts involving the child.

Murdoch, listed as the Associate Director of Monroe Regional Hospital for Family Medicine Residents, faces serious repercussions following the allegations. He has reportedly been suspended from hospital privileges and all related activities.
