Authorities say the former doctor was found just three days before he was sentenced to prison for a child sex crime, which he had already pleaded guilty.
Matt Elsa Hipke, 62, from Longview, Texas, was arrested in August 2020.

Hipke was accused of committing several child sexual abuse crimes against a child patient. According to WLTX-TVHipke was charged in 2022 with three consecutive counts of sexual abuse of a child under the age of 14, sexual assault on a child, and indecency with a child.

On Tuesday, deputies with the Greg County Sheriff’s Office discovered Hipke’s death at his home just three days before he was sentenced for a shocking sexual offence against a child.
“On arrival, the sheriff’s office identified the deceased as Hipke,” Greg County Sheriff’s Office’s deputy chief Craig Harrington said in a statement.
Police did not provide a cause of death, but the sheriff’s office noted that there was generally no danger. Police said an investigation is underway and no further information will be made public.
Authorities plan to perform an autopsy at Hipke to determine the cause of his death.
Jail records show that Hipke had been out of the Greg County Jail since June 9, 2022.
Police said Hipke’s former child patient was his victim.
Ketk-TV Two of Hipke’s former patients (boys under the age of 17) reported that they accused him of sexual assault.
According to Longview News Journal“The charges against him allegedly claimed a pattern of sexual abuse in which police said they loved to fond the genitals of a child patient on multiple occasions between 2018 and 2020.”
Hipke’s practice – the adolescent care team – has reportedly closed since severe allegations of child sexual abuse emerged. The Texas Medical Board has also suspended Hipke’s medical license.

The distraught mother said, “I know you’ve taken something else from me. I can’t face him, I can’t tell you exactly how he hurt us.
