Dodgers fans leave as NLCS disappointment hits a new low

Last night was quite the experience for the Los Angeles Dodgers, and many fans seemed to have made their minds up to leave early.

Before the Dodgers fell to the Milwaukee Brewers 6-2 in the National League Championship Series on Wednesday, a number of fans were seen exiting the stadium well before the game wrapped up.

Senior sports reporter Edward Lewis from California Post shared several videos showcasing fans making their way out behind the centerfield bleachers.

This mass exodus occurred despite the fact that the stadium wasn’t even at full capacity.

Throughout the game, the seats in Dodger Stadium were noticeably empty, with blue and yellow chairs scattered around. It’s worth noting that ticket prices had dropped by 42% just ahead of the game.

Now, following this loss, the Dodgers find themselves in a 3-0 hole in the series, just one game away from being swept by the Brewers.

During the game, the Dodgers were mostly trailing, especially after Jackson Chourio made a splash on the very first pitch thrown. He connected with a fastball, sending a solo home run over the right center-field fence.

Starting pitcher Blake Snell eventually found his rhythm, registering nine strikeouts over six innings.

Los Angeles finally took the lead in the sixth inning. Will Smith, who had just welcomed his newborn child that day, stepped into a crucial moment. With the bases loaded and only one out, he delivered a two-RBI double, scoring Kyle Tucker and Teoscar Hernandez.

However, the Dodgers have faced challenges throughout the postseason, particularly in converting opportunities with runners in scoring position. After Smith’s rally, both he and Shohei Ohtani were left wanting as Kiké Hernández and Tommy Edman struck out to close the inning.

Snell pitched the seventh inning, limiting the Brewers to just two hits and one walk, but Milwaukee made those hits count.

In a pivotal moment, Jake Bauers extended his at-bat to 11 pitches before hitting a two-run homer to elevate the Brewers’ score. Following him, Garrett Mitchell launched a changeup into center field, stretching the lead to 4-2.

The Brewers added another run in the eighth, prompting fans to exit well before the end. After many had departed, Joey Ortiz sealed the game with an RBI single to the left.

The Dodgers are now facing the possibility of being swept for the first time in the playoffs since 2023. They’ll host the Brewers for Game 4 on Thursday at 6:00 p.m. PT.
