Dodgers set high prices, Angels provide the lowest

Baseball is on the rise, and ticket prices are reaching new heights. For 2026, costs will depend on where you sit and which team you’re supporting.

In California, this difference isn’t subtle at all—it’s pretty stark.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are leading Major League Baseball when it comes to ticket pricing this year, really setting themselves apart economically.

The average lowest ticket price at Dodger Stadium is $76.57, which is almost twice the league average of $34.82.

They’re also far ahead of nearby teams in California, like the Angels, who have the most affordable tickets.

Dodgers’ ticket prices aren’t influenced by giveaways or premium nights. Their back-to-back World Series victories have created ongoing demand.

Watching stars like Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, and Freddie Freeman—plus newcomers like Kyle Tucker and Edwin Diaz—makes every game a special event. It’s like you’re getting a ticket to an all-star show, and the costs reflect that.

And ticket prices for Dodgers’ away games are also high. Fans anticipate their opponents, driving up costs even further.

Across the league, when the Dodgers visit, the cheapest ticket averages $62.51, a figure only rivaled by the Yankees.

If you head a few hundred miles south, the scene shifts but not completely.

The San Diego Padres average $40.04 per game, firmly situated in the league’s upper middle tier, powered by a team with star presence and playoff aspirations.

Meanwhile, the San Francisco Giants sit at $47.85. Their combination of history and a stunning ballpark keeps Oracle Park lively, especially when premium teams come to town, leading to ticket prices soaring into three-digit figures.

As for the Angels, they have the lowest average ticket price at $16.02—not just a bargain in today’s market, but also indicative of years without playoffs.

Owner Arte Moreno noted that fans might prioritize affordability over success, but it’s hard to ignore that they’ve finished last again.

In Anaheim, not only are tickets affordable, but expectations remain high as well. However, that dynamic shifts when the Dodgers are in town. Ticket prices surge, demonstrating that demand is still strong, waiting for something worthwhile.

That’s the situation as baseball enters the 2026 season. Most of the data comes from a report analyzing 2,426 games throughout the league.

The median ticket price is $29.00, indicating some accessibility. But it seems like prices are inching upward, due to a few franchises turning their brand into a lucrative venture.

The Dodgers exemplify this wonderfully. They’ve capitalized on excellence and stardom, creating a product fans are eager to pay extra for. In contrast, the Angels seem to have lost hope.

Somewhere between Dodger Stadium and Angel Stadium—between $76.57 and $16.02—lies the complicated state of the baseball economy, showcasing that winning comes with a significant cost.
