DOJ Uncovers Claims That Biden Administration Suppressed Parents From Voicing Concerns About Issues in Schools

On Monday, the Department of Justice released a significant report that explores how the Biden administration allegedly used governmental power to suppress parents’ voices regarding perceived injustices within the education system.

Attorney General Todd Blanche unveiled “The 2026 Report to Expose the Weaponization of Government Against Parents in Schools” on X, which aligns with Executive Order 14147. This 273-page document reveals that former Attorney General Merrick Garland was prompted by the National School Boards Association (NSBA) and officials from the White House to threaten legal action against parents.

According to Blanche, the Biden administration essentially weaponized the DOJ against parents who were attempting to raise concerns about actions within school systems that might violate constitutional rights. He referenced these findings in his post about the department’s report.

In his statement, Blanche provided further insights, noting that “we’ve released hundreds of exhibits and emails that substantiate what many Americans suspected: that the Garland DOJ collaborated extensively with White House officials and the NSBA to suppress free speech and parental rights while threatening parents with prosecution and domestic terrorism labels.”

Following Garland’s memorandum, the FBI initiated several investigations into alleged “school board threats,” as highlighted in the report.

The Bureau scrutinized a mother due to her membership in a “right-wing mom’s group” and her status as a gun owner, while a father was investigated for his vocal opposition to government policies.

During this time, parents were frequently branded as “domestic terrorists” or “violent protestors” for expressing their concerns at local school board meetings. These concerns included issues related to COVID-19 measures, transgender policies, Critical Race Theory, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives in their school districts, the report indicates.

A letter sent in 2021 by the NSBA to President Biden urged the federal government to classify certain parental expressions as “criminal” and seek legal action against those protesting school board activities, labeling them as “engaging in domestic terrorism.”

One striking example from the Biden administration’s actions discussed in the report involved a father who was arrested and labeled a “domestic terrorist” after his special-needs daughter endured a severe sexual assault by an individual in a women’s restroom. This father had attempted to voice concerns about the school district’s failure to address the assault adequately, pointing to how accommodating policies for LGBTQ individuals may have contributed to this incident.
