Dollar General is taking drastic measures to stamp out retail theft that has become rampant at its stores across the United States.
The company plans to remove certain items that thieves frequently steal, and CEO Todd Vasos said the company is moving away from self-checkout, Fox Business reported. report Tuesday.
“The chief executive said that as part of the plan, around 3,000 additional stores would be converted away from self-checkout in May, bringing the total to 12,000 since the start of the financial year,” the media outlet reported.

“The company also announced it is looking to change its self-checkout strategy by replacing self-checkout registers with assisted checkout options at approximately 9,000 stores,” the report said.
