Dollar Tree customers can expect to see items with $7 price tags on the discount retailer’s shelves later this year.
That applies to 3,000 stores, and CEO Rick Dreyling said Dollar Tree is “hoping.”[s] Expanding multi-price selection of over 300 items with price ranges from $1.50 to $7. ”
The company, which also operates the Family Dollar brand, has introduced products priced above $1.25. The cap was reportedly $5 before the next initiative.

“However, even as the multi-price assortment expands over time, the majority of items sold in Dollar Tree stores will remain in the entry-level fixed price range,” Dreyling said. He talked about the dollar cap. “Over time, we’ve also been able to fully incorporate multi-price items into our stores, so shoppers can find a $5 bag of dog food next to traditional $1.25 pet treats and toys, Bags of dollar candy can now be found in the store: Candy Aisle.”
Dollar Tree takes a ‘very defensive approach’ to shoplifting, CEO says
According to the CEO, Dollar Tree has sought to “offer a better selection” to consumers at different price levels.

Under its multi-price point strategy, Dreyling told analysts and investors that Dollar Tree has more than 6,500 stores nationwide, selling frozen and refrigerated products in the $3 to $5 price range. He said he had done so. According to the CEO, the brand will continue to expand these services.
Dollar Tree to close family-friendly $1,000 store
Dollar Tree’s roughly 5,000 stores began offering $3 and $5 “center store items” last year, and 2,000 more stores are scheduled to do so in 2024, he said.
Dreyling also said Dollar Tree’s introduction of different price points and more variety has helped attract higher-income shoppers. He said those with incomes above $125,000 are Dollar Tree’s “fastest growing segment.”

Dollar Tree brought in total revenue of $30.6 billion in fiscal year 2023, an 8% increase year-over-year. Meanwhile, the company posted a net loss of $998.4 million for the year.
