The country music icon has launched a new cosmetics brand. Dolly Beauty” she said, previewing her first lipstick line.
“I feel attractive on the inside so I want to look attractive on the outside too… something is going on @dollybeauty 💄,” Parton said. Post to Instagram Tuesday.
In the photo, the Grammy Award-winning songstress can be seen sitting in a makeup chair, holding a Jolene Red eyeshadow shade inspired by her hit song.
The “Heaven’s Kiss” collection, which will be available on the brand’s website on August 22nd, will also include three lipstick shades that celebrate the singer’s legendary career.
“I like to name my products after songs,” Parton said. In an interview with WWDThe remaining names are revealed to be Honey Plum, Rose Bud and Birthday Suit.
And in a nod to the superstar’s glamorous, glamorous fashion heritage, the $20 lipstick comes in gold packaging adorned with rhinestones.
Parton, 78, told the outlet that she eventually plans to expand Dolly Beauty into eye and skin care products.
“I always say I’ll never take rhinestones off. Like most girls, especially country girls who dream of glamour, I’ve always wanted to be pretty my whole life,” she told WWD about the inspiration behind the brand.
“I started making my own little makeup products at home as a child and over the years I was known for wearing too much makeup, often too much.”
A cosmetics brand certainly makes sense for the popular country singer, who previously admitted to being a late riser.
“I wash my face in the morning,” she told The New York Times in 2019.
“I might wreck the bus or there might be a fire somewhere in the hotel, so I don’t take my make-up off at night and I wash my face in the morning.”
Dolly Beauty plans to launch a fragrance line called Scent from Above in 2021.
And like other beauty icons like Beyoncé, Rihanna, and Blake Lively, Parton is open to the idea of one day branching out into hair.
“I always wanted to have my own wig brand,” she told WWD, “but I’d always loved makeup, so when I did fragrance, makeup seemed like the next step.”
