Dolly Parton gives fans an update after her husband’s death

Dolly Parton reveals her husband's loss.

The 79-year-old country music legend sat Knox News In Dollywood, she marked her first public appearance since the death of her husband, Carl Dean, on Friday, on Friday.

“I'm doing better than I thought,” she told the outlet. “I've been with him for 60 years, so I'll have to relearn some of the things we've done, but I'll keep him close at all times.”

Parton and Dean first met outside a laundromat in Nashville, Nashville, in 1964, when they were 18 and 21 years old. They married two years later in May 1966 at a very private ceremony and remained a private couple throughout the marriage.

When speaking to Knox News, Parton explained that Dean had “a great suffering” and that he felt “he was in peace.” She feels peaceful with his death, but “it doesn't prevent me from missing him and not loving him.”

“It's a hole in my heart, you know, but we fill it with good stuff and he'll still be with me,” Parton said.

“I'm doing better than I thought. I've been with him for 60 years, so I'll have to relearn some of the things we've done. But I'll keep him close at hand.”

They were not seen together in public places, but Parton explained that Dean was supportive in everything she did, including owning a theme park.

She reveals that Dean often visits Dollywood herself, and whenever he visits family in East Tennessee, “I think he'll go to Dollywood and check things out.”

“He was in the park. He bought his own tickets. He lined up and got tickets. He didn't want anyone to give him a ticket because he was Dolly's husband,” Parton recalled. “Everyone thinks it's the most interesting thing.”

After visiting the park, Dean often went home with some notes on what could be improved.

“He's going to say, 'We need more bathrooms,'” Parton said. “Or he'll say, 'You need to tell them this or that or that. It's crowded in the area. You might want to tell them they should do this or that.” He wasn't coming to criticize, but he would notice things and say, “You might want this to get their attention.” ”

When asked about how she wants to have an ideal day at the theme park, Parton said she “likes Karl” and that she only spends her time.[ing[aroundlook[ing[ateverything][ing[aroundlook[ing[ateverything”

Parton announced Dean's death in an Instagram post on March 3rd. “Dolly Parton's husband, Carl Dean, died in Nashville on March 3rd at the age of 82. He was survived by his brothers Sandra and Donnie.”

“Karrl and I have spent many wonderful years together. Words cannot do justice to the love we have shared over 60 years. We appreciate your prayers and sympathy,” she concluded.
