Dolly Parton Offers Health Update to Fans
Dolly Parton recently addressed her fans, apologizing for missing yet another event while she navigates “some health issues.”
In a heartfelt video shared with her supporters, Parton thanked everyone following her induction into the International Amusement Parks and Attractions Association Hall of Fame. “Hi, I’m Dolly. I really wish I could have been there in person today,” she said in the video. “I’m dealing with health issues this fall, and the doctor advised me to take some time to rest. It’s disappointing not to be there, but I wanted to express my gratitude for this incredible honor.”
Parton also acknowledged her Dollywood partners, Jack and Peter Herschend, for helping make her dreams a reality. “I trust them, and they trust me. They always consider my big ideas and dreams, and somehow, the fantastic team at Dollywood brings those visions to life,” she added.
This recent induction is just one of several events Parton has missed lately due to her ongoing health concerns.
Despite canceling multiple appearances in October, Parton reassured fans about her well-being. “It’s October 8th, and here I am doing a commercial for the Grand Ole Opry, dressed like a country western girl,” she mentioned in another video on her website. “I know some of you might think I’m sicker than I really am these days. Do I look sick? I’m working hard here.”
Her doctor has suggested some precautions, but she emphasized that it’s really “no big deal” and they’re just minor adjustments.
Parton explained that while she’s received treatment at various places close to home and Vanderbilt, it has led her to cancel plans. “But I want you to know I’m not going anywhere,” she reassured. “There are lots of rumors flying around, but if you hear it from me, you know I’m okay.” She added, “I’m not ready to go just yet. I don’t think God has given up on me, and I still have more to do. I care about you all, and you’re in my prayers.”
In a light-hearted note, she captioned her post with a reminder: “I’m not dead yet!”
