Dolly Parton Postpones Las Vegas Concerts Due to Health Issues
Iconic country singer Dolly Parton has announced the postponement of several upcoming concerts in Las Vegas, citing some personal “health challenges.” Despite these hurdles, she reassures fans that she remains committed to continuing her career.
Parton was set to perform six nights at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace from December 4 to 13, but she informed the public about the delay on Sunday. Currently, her residency runs from September 17 to 26.
In her message, Parton expressed her regret about having to postpone the concerts. “As many of you know, I’ve been dealing with some health challenges,” she shared.
The 79-year-old artist added a touch of her signature humor, mentioning the need for a “100,000-mile medical check-up,” and joked that visiting her plastic surgeon is anything but a routine trip. She acknowledged the challenges in preparing the shows her fans expect during this time.
Parton drew strength from her faith, stating, “Don’t worry about me; God hasn’t said to stop yet.” She emphasized her eagerness for future projects, although she feels it’s time to take a step back. “Thank you for your love and understanding,” she concluded.
This isn’t the first time Parton has faced health issues recently. In mid-September, she had to skip the grand opening of a new attraction at Dollywood due to an infection from kidney stones. She remarked at the time that her doctor advised her to take a few days off to recover.
Despite this setback, Parton has had a vibrant year, releasing her latest book, Show Star: My Life on Stage, and the musical Dolly: A True Original, inspired by her life.
