Dolly Parton Addresses Fans Amid Health Concerns
Dolly Parton recently expressed her regrets to fans for missing yet another event due to ongoing health issues. Following her induction into the International Amusement Parks and Attractions Association Hall of Fame, she shared a heartfelt video message.
“Hi, I’m Dolly. I really wish I could be with you all today, but unfortunately, I’m dealing with some health problems this fall,” she said in the video. The doctor advised her to take some time to rest, which left her feeling quite disappointed. Still, she took a moment to convey her gratitude for the honor of her induction.
Parton also acknowledged her partners at Dollywood, Jack and Peter Herschend, thanking them for believing in her dreams. “I trust them, they trust me, and they’re always supportive of my big ideas. Somehow, the incredible team at Dollywood has managed to turn those dreams into reality,” she noted.
Dolly Parton Missing Events
This is not the first time Parton has had to cancel appearances because of her health. Earlier in the year, she eased fans’ concerns by assuring them that she was fine despite missing several events. In a video posted on her website, she explained, “So today is October 8th, and here I am, dressed like a country western girl for a commercial.” She went on to say, “You might think I’m looking sicker than I really am—do I look sick to you? I’m working hard!”
While discussing her health, Parton mentioned her doctor has recommended she be cautious but reassured fans that it’s “no big deal.” She reflected on the necessity of canceling some engagements due to proximity to her treatment center, Vanderbilt. “But I want you to know, I’m not going anywhere,” she said lightheartedly.
Parton concluded her message with a reassuring tone, “There’s a lot of rumors circulating, but if you hear it from me, you can be sure I’m okay. I’m not ready to die yet. I believe God has plans for me, and I care about you all deeply.” Her parting words were optimistic, further emphasizing her resilience and love for her fans.
She even added a caption to her post: “I’m not dead yet!” embodying her spirited approach to life’s challenges.
