According to the country star, Dolly Parton's husband, Carl Dean, passed away on Monday, March 3rd. He was 82 years old.
“Carl and I spent many wonderful years together,” the singer of “Jolene” wrote on social media.
“Words cannot bring justice to the love they have shared over 60 years. Thank you for your prayers and sympathy.”

Dean will be “placed to rest at a private ceremony with immediate family attendance,” Parton wrote online. “He was survived by his brothers Sandra and Donnie.”

Parton first met Dean at the laundromat when he was 18 and 21. They married in 1966.
He was rarely seen on Parton's side, but always played a strong supportive role in his wife's life.
“He's always supporting me unless I try to drag him in,” Parton told people in her 2019 premiere The Netflix series, “Dolly Parton Heart String.”

“He's always been my biggest fan behind the scenes, but he's at home. I don't think they're probably showing a lot of this on TV, and if that's the case, he might see it.

“But anyway, he never came to drag him out. I'd rather bring someone else with me, do you know?
Parton also spoke about the “key” of their love in 2023.
“He loves music, but he's not in the music business so there's a lot of stuff to talk about his world and my world. “We have a lot of love and respect for each other. I think it's the key to it… We both have a crazy, distorted sense of humor, so we have a lot of fun.”

The “9-5” singer recently admitted that the simplest of their relationship is what makes the couple interested in each other.
“We're having fun with each other,” she told E! News for 2024. “I like cooking, and one of the things we want to do – not necessarily date nights, but there are plenty of date days – we have a small RV and we want to travel.

“We'll either go down and drink food or have a picnic. And we'll go down the river and have a picnic, and we'll get on a little bit and do something small.”
Parton recently suffered from heartache in November when his brother, David Wilburn Parton, passed away at his Tennessee home. He was 82 years old.
David was one of Dolly's 11 brothers, born to Robert and Avie Lee Parton. The couple shared six boys and six girls.
