Dolphins’ Grant DuBose stretchered off, taken to hospital after injury

It was a terrifying and somber moment in Houston on Sunday when Dolphins wide receiver Grant DuBose was carried off the field on a stretcher and taken to the hospital after absorbing a blow to the head.

In the third quarter, DuBose tried to make a catch over the middle, but was hit helmet-to-helmet by Texans safety Karen Brock and was cautioned for unnecessary roughness.

The game was stopped for about 10 minutes as medical personnel cut off DuBose's jersey and placed a brace around his neck before he was carried off the field.

The Dolphins announced he was in stable condition, but was ruled out due to a head injury and taken to a hospital for further tests.

DuBose, 23, was claimed off waivers by the Packers in August, but spent most of the season on injured reserve before appearing in Sunday's game.

The second-year pro played in three games for the Dolphins this season and had two receptions for 11 yards.
