Tiffany Henyard, the Democratic mayor of scandal-plagued Dalton, Illinois, has signaled she would seek to arrest her political opponents, many of whom have expressed concerns about her spending too much of their tax dollars.
The embattled mayor, who is also facing eviction from his rented home, has made national headlines over allegations of misuse of taxpayer funds, and former Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot said: I had previously investigated her spending habits.
“I will be calling for the arrest of those involved,” Henyard said in a rambling 90-minute video posted to Facebook on Tuesday.

“I'm going to press charges. It's a big deal. And this is just me telling you a little bit, because all this is pointing fingers at Tiffany and lying to me. It's over for me. It's time for me to speak. Tell me the truth.”
Mr Henyard, who introduced himself in the video as a “super mayor”, did not say what crimes the protesters had committed.
She posted on social media platforms after the Thornton Township meeting, which she also leads as supervisor, was canceled due to lack of quorum after trustees expressed concerns about the safety of the meeting venue. She also denounced media coverage of her tenure as “fake news” and bashed officials who opposed her.

In a Facebook post, Henyard said the people making the accusations against her were doing it to create a distraction.

Meanwhile, Henyard's landlord told Fox 32 Chicago that the mayor and his girlfriend, Kamal Woods, have not paid rent since August and are asking them to leave.

Residents call him “America's worst mayor.” She was given this nickname after her tenure was marred by controversy, including mismanagement of funds.

The legal dispute stems from a controversial previous village board meeting in which Henyard claims he violated procedures.
