Dominican Suspect Accused Of Killing Family Of 4 Arrested In N.Y., Also Wanted For 2019 Murder

Police said Friday they have arrested a man they believe is responsible for an attack that killed a family of four in Irondequite, New York, last month.

Julio Cesar Pimentel Soriano, 34, of the Dominican Republic, was arrested Saturday in connection with the Aug. 31 incident.st Flame Ubaldo, 30, Marangely Moreno-Santiago, 26, Evangeline Ubaldo-Moreno, 4, and Sebastian Ubaldo-Moreno, 2, were killed in their Knapp Avenue home.

Local firefighters discovered the bodies of the victims while fighting multiple fires at the home that morning, and police said it was quickly determined they had died from causes other than the fire.

“It was a horrific scene. I've been doing this job for almost 32 years and I've never seen anything like it,” Irondequoit Police Chief Scott Peters said.

Additionally, police said the suspect was also wanted for a murder that occurred in the Dominican Republic in 2019. He allegedly entered Puerto Rico illegally, obtained an illegal New York ID and traveled to the U.S. mainland without incident.
