Dominican Wanted for Human Smuggling Deported for Fifth Time

Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) has deported Dominican citizens who want human trafficking by Dominican authorities and the death of three children.

Batista Matos, 36 years old It will be sent back to his home country on Monday. According to Fox News, this is the fifth time he has been deported by the United States.

Matos was immediately taken into custody in Santo Domingo by Dominican authorities as soon as the ice flight landed.

Federal sources revealed that Matos was first deported in October 2010. He was also deported in 2011, 2019 and 2023.

Matos was arrested in San Juan, Puerto Rico in 2024 after Dominican officials issued a warrant for arrest in connection with a human smuggling case that killed several minors.

“Ice prioritizes arresting and removing foreign criminal fugitives, and as a result, our community is safer and safer,” the director said.

The statement added that Ice was coordinated with the Dominican National Police upon Matos' return.
