Last week's disappearance of a Domino's Pizza delivery worker sent his family into panic, but it got worse when a stranger made mysterious calls to his brother's cell phone.
The family of 42-year-old Shwebu Shion said he left for work at a Domino's Pizza in Apple Valley, Minn., on Tuesday evening but never returned home.
This is quite out of the ordinary for Mr. Xiong, a dependable worker who comes and goes like clockwork for work.
His distraught family added that they had not heard from him since.
“All the customers called Domino's Pizza back and let them know that their orders had not been received,” said the missing man's sister. Nisha Xiong told ABC 9. “We feel lost, confused and scared. We hope he's okay.”
The next day, the family began searching for Shuebubu to no avail, and Nisha created a website to help people find him.
But all trace of him disappeared, except for one clue: the stranger who hung up on Shuefuab's brother.
“On the day he went missing, January 14th, my [other] Around 6:45 pm, I received a call from my brother from an unknown number,'' Nisha said. “He didn't answer because he thought it might be a spam call.''
The brothers eventually called the number back, and the person who answered said Shuefab had called from the Target parking lot in Litchfield.
“[They] My brother drove up to me and knocked on my window and asked me to use the phone,” Nisha said.
According to the newspaper, the man claimed that Shuefab called his family three times but gave up and left.
Shuebu's worried family is offering a $20,000 reward for his safe return.
