Don Jr. calls US 'third-world s—hole' after Trump's guilty verdict

Former President Donald Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., slammed Democrats for trying to turn the country into a “shithole,” in his father’s words, after the former president was found guilty of 34 felony counts in a Manhattan courtroom on Thursday.

“The Democrats have succeeded in their long-running attempt to turn America into a Third World shithole,” he says. Post to X social media platforms“November 5th is our last chance to save it.”

The former president infamously came under fire in 2018 for deriding Haiti, El Salvador and African countries as “shitholes” during heated bipartisan negotiations on immigration policy at the White House.

A jury found Trump, 77, guilty of falsifying business documents during his 2016 presidential run to cover up an allegation of a sexual relationship with an adult film star that occurred a decade ago.

Trump, the first former president to be convicted of a felony, has denied any wrongdoing and his defense has vowed to appeal his conviction. He gave an impromptu 33-minute speech in New York on Friday, again using hyperbolic language to call the trial a “fraud.”

“We live in a fascist state,” he said.

Trump also criticized Biden, calling him “the worst president in the history of our country.”

Trump refused to acknowledge Biden’s 2020 victory, ultimately leading Biden’s supporters to storm the Capitol on January 6, 2021, in an attempt to stop the certification of the election results.

Even before he was embroiled in a bitter 2020 election campaign, Biden had condemned Trump’s “shithole countries” comments.

“This is not how a president should talk. This is not how a president should behave. And most importantly, this is not how a president should believe,” Biden, who would go on to launch his own presidential campaign a year later, wrote on social media at the time. “We are better than this.”

Trump’s aides concluded that his rude comments about foreign countries were a result of him speaking as a “regular guy” rather than a sophisticated politician.
