Donald Trump Boasts 62-Point Lead over Nikki Haley

A Morning Consult poll released Monday found former President Donald Trump holding a significant lead over former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley in the Republican primary.

Trump continues to widen his lead and now has the support of 80% of likely Republican primary voters, according to Morning Consult. Haley fell to 62 points with an approval rating of 18%.

The poll also found that Haley’s argument that Trump, 77, is too old to be president did not resonate with Republican voters.

Morning consultation report:

Haley’s age argument has few supporters. Roughly one in four Republican voters nationwide think Trump is too old to seek the White House again, while roughly four in five believe Trump is mentally healthy. Or say they are healthy. These numbers from our weekly tracking show there is little appetite for age-based attacks on Trump among his own party’s voters, despite his repeated gaffes on the campaign trail. It is shown that.

Additionally, President Trump’s favorability rating is much higher than Haley’s: 79% view Trump favorably, compared to 47% who view Haley favorably. More than a third, 36%, view Haley unfavorably, while 20% say the same about Trump.

The survey was conducted between February 9th and 11th among 3,827 likely Republican primary voters, and has a margin of error of plus or minus 2 percentage points.

Morning Consult’s poll coincides with state-level polling that similarly says Haley is likely to lose in the upcoming primary. For example, a CBS News poll released Monday showed Trump with a 35-point lead over the former governor in his home state of South Carolina.

A Morning Consult poll of Super Tuesday states released on February 7 also showed Haley struggling, trailing by double digits in each state.
