Donald Trump cautioned against Charlie Sheen's marriage to Brooke Mueller

Charlie Sheen’s Engagement Sparks Concern Among Friends and Family

Charlie Sheen’s recent engagement has left many of his friends and relatives less than thrilled, especially since it comes on the heels of his split from ex-wife Denise Richards.

Brooke Mueller, who first entered Sheen’s life in 2006 with the help of Rebecca Gayhart, got engaged to him just a year later. The new Netflix documentary “AKA Charlie Sheen” presents a mixed view of their whirlwind relationship, even featuring comments from former President Donald Trump on the subject.

Mueller reflected on meeting Sheen shortly after her divorce, thinking he was like a “lighthouse in a fierce storm.” She vividly remembers their first encounter at a party, where they connected for about an hour before exchanging numbers. “It felt very old-fashioned,” she noted.

Sheen, 60, proposed to Mueller, 48, in 2007, and they tied the knot in May 2008. However, their marriage was not without its issues, with Sheen recalling that even his co-star John Cryer had reservations about the union. Although Cryer couldn’t attend the wedding due to filming commitments, he was supportive of the couple.

Sheen humorously recalled a toast from his father, Martin Sheen, during the wedding, which raised some eyebrows: “I hope they both know what they’re doing,” was the key takeaway.

There were plenty of concerns surrounding their relationship, and Trump even encouraged Mueller’s parents to intervene more decisively. He reportedly told them, “Don’t let your daughter marry him,” despite his apparent fondness for Sheen.

The couple welcomed twins, Bob and Max, in March 2009. These boys were born premature and required extensive medical care, adding to the stress of their new family life. Sheen mentioned juggling his busy schedule with parenting duties. “It’s tough, but the kids are resilient,” he remarked.

Mueller acknowledged the challenges their shared addiction issues brought to their marriage, stating that their experiences were intense and accelerated due to their personal struggles. Following a particularly difficult episode, during which Mueller faced her own legal troubles, she left, highlighting the toxic environment they found themselves in.

Sheen, reflecting on the chaos of his life at that time, admitted that he played a significant role in their tumultuous relationship. “I certainly have my role,” he said candidly.
