Former President Donald Trump on Thursday shared a photo of Vice President Kamala Harris’ family, highlighting her Indian ancestry.

Trump’s Thursday Truth Said He said of Harris, “I didn’t know she was black until a few years ago, when she happened to be black, and now she wants to be known as black.”
Trump’s line of attack suggests that Harris is using her dual ancestry to her advantage.
“Kamala Harris is Indian when she’s fundraising, but she’s black when she’s canvassing,” said Mike Davis, founder and executive director of the pro-Trump Article 3 Project.
Kamala is black.

But as Politico Playbook acknowledged on Thursday, a Business Insider headline in 2016 read, “California’s Kamala Harris becomes first Indian-American US senator.”
