Former President Donald Trump’s hush-money trial in Manhattan is scheduled for opening arguments on Monday after the full jury of 12 jurors and six alternates is seated on Friday.
President Trump took to social media the night before, writing on Truth Social:
Four years ago, I became a very successful and popular President of the United States, going into the election in November and receiving far more votes than any sitting president in our country’s history. Unfortunately, the election was rigged and our once great country quickly became a nation in deep decline. Tomorrow morning, I will be in New York Criminal Court for a trial on election interference that, somewhat ironically, is controlled by crooked Joe Biden’s Justice Department, a corrupt and highly inconsistent judge, and a Soros-funded judge. Report for trial before the District Attorney who failed to provide. The lawsuit could have been filed eight years ago, but was not filed in an almost entirely Democratic district. Virtually all legal scholars and experts say that there is no incident, no crime. It’s a lie that should never have been brought up except to try to damage me, Biden’s political opponent. See you tomorrow morning!
he added:
Corrupt Soros-funded district attorney Alvin Bragg, who has completely lost control of New York’s violent crime, has claimed that money paid to lawyers for legal services rendered is recorded as legal fees on his ledger. states that it should not be done. What other term would be more appropriate? Believe it or not, this is the pretext on which I was prosecuted, and no legal scholar or expert would believe it. It’s also the story of a perfectly twisted Joe Biden – stuck in court and not allowed to campaign for president of the United States.
Democratic Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has alleged that he tried to hide $130,000 in hush money he paid to adult actress Stormy Daniels through his then-lawyer Michael Cohen before the 2016 election. Trump was indicted on 34 felonies for allegedly falsifying business records.
Bragg argues that Trump’s classification of the payments as legal fees was an attempt to cover up campaign law violations, making them felonies for minor violations that could carry fines. A jury of seven men and five women will decide whether the arguments are persuasive.
Jurors and alternates face potential bias and their ability to be fair and impartial despite the high-profile nature of the case, which could have implications for the upcoming 2024 presidential election. They were selected after a week-long process. President Trump is months away from gaining a lead in key battleground states.

The trial has already taken on a circus-like atmosphere outside the courtroom.
On Friday, a man came under fire himself after accusing President Trump and President Joe Biden of being fascists. He passed away over the weekend.
The first witness expected to testify is David Pecker, a longtime friend of President Trump and former chairman of American Media, publisher of the National Enquirer, according to reports. Pecker allegedly helped broker the hush money deal with Daniels. He will be questioned about his alleged conversations with Trump.
