Billionaire investor Mark Cuban said Wednesday on MSNBC's “Deadline” that former President Donald Trump is a “salesman” and that Vice President Kamala Harris is a “great CEO.”
“He's a great salesman. He's good at talking, but that doesn't mean he follows through or gets the job done. That's part of what she has to say. I think she's off to a good start on that and was able to use Carrier as an example to get that across,” Cuban said. “The biggest difference between the two is Donald Trump is trying to intimidate companies. We saw him threaten John Deere with a 200 percent tariff. That's not going to make John Deere's business better. In fact, even after you put 10 or 20 percent tariffs on it, it's going to make it easier for Chinese companies to compete with John Deere.”
He continued, “What did Kamala Harris say? She said she would encourage business growth and development. She's going to provide tax incentives. She's going to make it easier for businesses to borrow money to grow. One is the hammer and the other is the carrot, right? How do you help businesses grow? That's a very big difference.”
Cuban added, “Donald is impulsive, and everything he says on policy is impulsive. You can see that the Kamala Harris campaign has scrutinized every single thing she says. Not just does it sound good, but is it the right thing? Are they really good, strong policies? When I spoke to her, the key message she shared with me is that these are policies that we've thought through seriously. They're important to me. We want to make it work. She's not a salesperson who's going to tell customers what they want to hear. She's a good CEO. I want to get this right because I'm accountable to my stakeholders. I need to do it the right way. You couldn't be more different between the two candidates.”
