Donald Trump is anything but a fascist

Someone tried to kill Donald Trump last weekend because they were convinced that Trump was a fascist. Let’s look up the definition. What exactly does fascist mean? The media is convinced that Trump is in the same league as Hitler, yet journalists never say what “fascist” actually means. How convenient.

The dictionary appears to have recently made some changes to its definition of fascism to conveniently reflect the left-wing agenda that dominates media discourse. If you read the dictionary, you can see why people think Donald Trump is a fascist.

If you can’t trust your vote, then there is no democracy. There is no republic. There is nothing.

according to Encyclopedia BritannicaFor example, fascism is:

A political ideology and mass movement that dominated much of Central, Southern and Eastern Europe between 1919 and 1945. …Fascist parties and movements were very different from one another, but they shared many commonalities, including extreme militarist nationalism.

Let’s break this down. First, many may argue that Donald Trump is a fascist because he wants a strong military. Sure, he wants a strong military, but it’s for deterrence, not for aggression. When you have power, no one wants to hit you because they know you’ll fight back, and probably fight back harder. You have to be the tough guy in the schoolyard.

But tough guys often turn out to be fascists. They promote “forever wars” by intervening in foreign conflicts. That’s what makes Trump different from other Republicans. Trump hates war and hates the conflict that it creates. That’s why he’s long alienated many on the right.

Fortunately, many of us have woken up and realized that the war our leaders have dragged us into will never end. It’s stupid to fight. We will all seem to lose in the end, one way or another, because it’s not our responsibility to tell other people how they should live. That’s not fascism. I just think it’s right.

The Encyclopedia Britannica goes on to describe fascists as “despising electoral democracy.” We’ve been arguing lately about what democracy is. Are we a democracy or a republic? Look this up for yourself. The American Founders were very clear. In fact, when Benjamin Franklin walked out of the Constitutional Convention, a woman asked him what form of government he had adopted, and he replied, “A republic, if we can keep it.” This was what we all understood until Woodrow Wilson started to change things.

Democracy lasts a very short time. The average constitution lasts 17 years, but ours is approaching its 235th anniversary. Why? Because it balances democracy and republicanism. Democracy is “one person, one vote.” You vote for your representative. Once you’ve voted, your representative starts voting for you. That’s where it gets weird. Because we’re not electing good, honest people – people with our own values. It’s also weird that we can’t trust our votes. If you can’t trust your votes, it’s not a democracy. It’s not a republic. It’s nothing.

That’s why Republicans say we need paper ballots. We need to require ID on Election Day. This is not something fascists do. It’s something they do at the 7-Eleven where you go to get your beer. It’s something you have to have if you drive a car. It’s something you need to have to go to college or apply for a job in many places. You need ID to vote. This is not racist. This is not fascist. This is about protecting the “democratic” parts of our democratic republic.

Yet the government is requiring people to have some sort of vaccine ID to enter buildings. Would you support government interference in decisions that concern you and your body, like administering experimental drugs? You don’t want people to have any kind of ID that shows they are citizens and registered voters? This is not democracy. It’s just corruption.

Encyclopedia Britannica defines fascism as “a belief in a natural social hierarchy and the rule of elites.” This is something I have disagreed with heavily with liberals for a long time. They used to say, “These corporations are so powerful that they will rule the world.” They were right. I never thought in my lifetime that corporations would become as powerful, corrupt, and controlling as governments. Before AI and Google, the elites did not have that power. But now they have that power. We now live under the rule of the elites. If you didn’t go to the right college or have the right opinions, you’re not the elite. You’re an idiot. And we “idiots” are told to only listen to what the elites say.

Encyclopedia Britannica also describes fascism as “a belief in natural social hierarchy and the rule of an elite… and a desire to create a ‘community of peoples.'” Here’s where it gets interesting: They equate Donald Trump’s love of country with “nationalism.” They think he is trying to recreate 1930s Germany. This is completely misguided. It is not a particular race that makes us great. It is our traditions that make us different.

This society was built by people who came from all over the world. How can you be anti-immigrant? People chose to come here and build the West. Have you ever seen a Western? Have you ever seen a cowboy movie? Have you ever seen 1883? Have you ever seen The Magnificent Seven? Have you seen Kevin Costner’s new movie, Horizon? These people were insane. My grandmother lost an eye going over the mountains. She just gouged her eye out and said, “Keep going.” These people were insane. That’s what made us. That’s what makes us different. Our tradition is that of explorers, of risk-takers. That’s why we’re good entrepreneurs.

But in Fascist Germany and Italy, the interests of the individual were subordinated to the interests of the state. The individual was not important, the collective was. This was a key symptom of Fascism.

Who is the defender of the individual? Who represents the party that defends the collective? Let me answer clearly: Donald Trump is the enemy of the collective, the defender of the individual, and the defender of the Republic. He is in no way a fascist.
