Trump Jr. Praises New Book on AI and China
In a recent podcast episode, Donald Trump Jr. called Winton Hall’s instant bestseller “Code Red” a book that “everyone should read,” emphasizing its insights on artificial intelligence (AI) and current global dynamics.
During the conversation, Trump Jr. asked what the Trump administration understands about AI that many politicians in Washington might overlook. Hall highlighted two main points: energy and China’s ambitions.
Hall explained that while one could create an outstanding AI model, akin to a luxury sports car, it won’t get far without energy—“it’s a shiny object that needs fuel.” He asserted that unlocking energy resources is crucial.
Moreover, Hall discussed how the Trump administration recognizes China’s determination for global dominance. He referenced a quote from Vladimir Putin, stating that the winner of the AI race will “rule the world,” which is noted in his book. He added that Trump comprehends the true nature of adversaries, hinting at their serious pursuit of power rather than mere technological exploration.
When Trump Jr. asked what America needs to do to prepare for an AI future, Hall responded by stressing the reality of the situation. He advised people to stop brushing it off as non-existent or too complex, emphasizing that it’s important to recognize AI as a fundamental technology that impacts society as a whole.
Hall encouraged learning the basics of AI, suggesting that it’s not insurmountable for those who aren’t tech experts. He remarked on the fear that knowledge might intimidate people, but suggested reading about it and diving into the subject.
He emphasized continuous efforts against China, noting the national security risks involved. “If you care about this country’s future, regardless of your political beliefs, you’ll realize this isn’t just hype,” Hall noted. He highlighted the need for the U.S. to maintain not just an edge in computing but also in energy resources and foundational elements necessary for technological advancement.
“We have the potential to move quickly and efficiently—we need to harness it to ensure a strong future for America,” Hall stated.
Trump Jr. echoed Hall’s sentiments, reiterating the importance of reading “Code Red” to understand the current landscape better.
