Donald Trump Jr. Pays Tribute to Friend Charlie Kirk, Discusses November Decision in Speech at Convention

Trump Jr. Speaks at RNC Midterm Convention

During his speech at the RNC Midterm Convention in Dallas, Donald Trump Jr. took a moment to remember Charlie Kirk on the first anniversary of his assassination. He presented the upcoming election as a battle between common sense and extremism. Trump Jr. emphasized that the energy from the crowd is something the radical left is deeply afraid of, claiming they have attempted to dismantle the MAGA movement for over a decade.

“One year ago today, my good friend Charlie Kirk was cut down by an assassin’s bullet. He had already inspired hundreds of thousands of young people to take up the cause of liberty and to fight for it,” Trump Jr. shared, remembering Kirk’s dedication to faith, family, freedom, and patriotism.

“Charlie loved this country more than anything. He understood that the future of Western civilization was on the line in 2024 and beyond. Charlie was good. He represented the light. The killer who put a bullet in his neck in cold blood and the leftists who laughed and mocked his murder — they represent the darkness that we are all up against,” he continued.

He urged the audience to honor Charlie’s legacy by carrying his torch to protect the nation they hold dear, highlighting Kirk’s commitment to “faith, family, free speech, and opportunity for all.” Trump Jr. expressed the belief that young individuals should not have to conform to current leftist ideologies to live fulfilling lives.

Shifting focus, he asserted that the left seeks obedience rather than conversation. “The stakes in this election couldn’t be higher. We have two competing visions battling for the soul of America. It’s common sense versus extremism,” he stated.

Trump Jr. pointed out that common sense Americans advocate for merit rather than diversity mandates and support equal opportunity without racial preferences. He freely stated, “We don’t apologize for wanting safe streets and supporting our police.” He argued that Republican beliefs align with common sense while opposing views from left-wing Democrats represent a chaotic world potentially dictated by policies like open borders, mass amnesty, and defunding law enforcement.

“We’ve reached a dangerous place in our culture where these extremists don’t just excuse political violence; they actually glorify it,” Trump Jr. added, criticizing the far left for celebrating individuals like Luigi Mangione and ridiculing the assassination attempt against his father in Butler, Pennsylvania.

He condemned the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) and indicated that many Democratic candidates openly support communism, claiming their version of socialism harms the very people they profess to serve. “When these communists scream and stab their clenched fists into the air, demanding more government power over your lives, they never really tell you the real cost of what they’re supporting,” he said, referencing specific policies from various candidates.

“Democrats know they can’t tell the truth about their policies because the American people would reject them outright,” Trump Jr. remarked. He reminisced about his summers with his grandparents in Eastern Europe, using those experiences to reflect on the dangers of socialism. “My grandfather taught me about the importance of self-reliance. He also taught me about the dangers of socialism. He showed me the bread lines and the rationing. I saw the despair and hopelessness with my own eyes,” he recalled.

In conclusion, he warned, “Communism is on the march, and it’s up to us to stop it in its tracks. It’s all hands on deck. And when the radical leftists call you names, wear it as a badge of honor and keep going. Don’t let these radicals gaslight you into thinking common sense is extreme and extreme is somehow common sense. 2024 was the beginning and not the finish line.”
