Donald Trump Jr. responded to news that shooter Thomas Matthew Crooks “was able to fly a drone and take aerial photos” of former President Donald Trump’s July 13 rally, noting that the US Secret Service once prevented him from “flying his drone off the beach at Mar-a-Lago” because his father was at home.
“To show you how insane this is, I once tried to fly my drone off the beach at Mar-a-Lago and was stopped by the U.S. Navy because my dad was inside the house…” said Trump Jr. “Now there are drones literally spying on his speeches!!!”

The gunman who tried to kill Donald Trump was able to fly a drone and capture aerial footage of a fairground in western Pennsylvania just before the former president was scheduled to speak, according to a law enforcement official briefed on the matter, further highlighting a stunning security lapse that occurred before Trump’s attempted assassination.
Authorities said Crooks “flew the drone on a programmed flight path to search the Butler Farm Show grounds in the early morning hours of July 13 ahead of Trump’s ill-fated rally.” The Wall Street Journal Added.
Breitbart News reported that Crooks attempted to assassinate Trump while he was speaking at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday night.
The Secret Service is now under fire for failing to stop a gunman from positioning himself on a rooftop less than 500 feet from President Trump and firing eight shots at him.
Agents found Crooks on the roof 10 minutes before Trump’s speech was to begin, but still allowed the 45th president onto the stage.
There have been several other reported Secret Service failures which you can read about here , and multiple investigations are currently underway.
Meanwhile, Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle, who has faced calls for her resignation but said she has no plans to step down, is scheduled to testify before the House Oversight Committee on Monday.
