Donald Trump, Kamala Harris in Dead Heat in Pennsylvania Before Market Crash

Pennsylvania is a close race between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris, but polls show Trump leading in the state.

In the two-way presidential race, Trump and Harris are tied at 48% support each, with an additional 4% undecided, according to a poll conducted by Fabrizio Lee & Associates for the Republican political action committee Early Vote Action.

The two candidates are neck and neck among independents, with 44 percent each and 12 percent undecided. Trump received the support of 93 percent of Republicans and 7 percent of Democrats, while Harris received the support of 89 percent of Democrats and 5 percent of Republicans.

Scott Pressler of Early Vote Action noted that 41 percent of the poll was conducted in the Philadelphia market, where Democrats were overrepresented against Republicans, 44 percent to 42 percent.

In the larger group of candidates that includes Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and other third-party candidates, Trump and Harris were tied at 45%. Kennedy received 4%, while Jill Stein of the Green Party, Chase Oliver of the Libertarian Party and independent Cornel West combined for 2%.

In this scenario, the percentage of undecided voters would rise to 5 percent, and Trump would lose more independent support than Harris, who would receive 39 percent, Trump 33 percent, and Kennedy a larger 13 percent.

The 45th president has a notable advantage over Harris in approval ratings: 51% of respondents approved of her job performance during her administration, while 48% disapproved, a net increase of 3% over the former president.

Meanwhile, Harris’ net rating was minus 7, with 43 percent of respondents approving of her performance as vice president and 50 percent disapproving.

Trump also has a slight lead in favorability ratings in the Keystone State, where 47% of respondents have a favorable view of Trump and 46% have a favorable view of Harris. Exactly half of respondents have an unfavorable view of Trump and 51% have an unfavorable view of Harris.

The poll, which surveyed 600 voters from July 29 to August 1, has a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points. The release of the survey’s findings coincides with a sharp drop in major stock indexes, which President Trump has called a “Kamala crash.”
