Donald Trump has expressed admiration for Nicki Minaj, citing her support and kindness towards his initiatives. During the premiere of his new movie “Melania,” he spoke highly of the rapper, calling her “amazing” and emphasizing her understanding of their work aimed at helping kids financially. “She’s been a supporter from the beginning, and I think Nicki Minaj is the winner. It’s amazing,” he noted.
“Melania” features the first lady as she prepares for the upcoming presidential inauguration in 2025. The film had its global release on January 30th.
In another part of the event, Melania Trump shared her experience of being filmed for the documentary, saying that she barely noticed the cameras due to her busy schedule. “It was almost like the cameras weren’t on,” she explained. With tight security and a fast-paced environment, she believes viewers will enjoy the film.
Trump remarked that the documentary serves as a testament to Melania’s intelligence and her ability to navigate the complexities of both the U.S. and the world, despite her different background.
Previously, both Trump and Minaj attended the Treasury Department’s Trump Account Summit, where Minaj declared herself as the president’s “biggest fan.” Somewhat playfully, she added that negativity from others only fuels her support for him.
House Speaker Mike Johnson described the experience of having Minaj in the Oval Office as “pretty surreal,” commenting on her lively personality. Trump recalled a moment where he encouraged her to keep the discussions private, which Minaj agreed to with a smile.
Minaj has openly supported Trump since November 2025, particularly praising his focus on the plight of Christians in Nigeria. After Trump announced the U.S. commitment to aid, she expressed her gratitude on social media.
Interestingly, she later shared her excitement over the White House’s TikTok featuring her music, expressing joy over the recognition. In her typical exuberant style, she highlighted the fun aspect of being showcased alongside the presidential couple.
