Former President Donald Trump is expected to win the battleground state of Wisconsin, as Fox News made the official call just before 2 a.m. ET.
Fox News not only predicted the former president's victory in Wisconsin, but also called out the entire campaign to Trump, making him the next president. The decision desk headquarters followed suit shortly after 2 a.m.
“The Fox News decision desk can now predict that Donald Trump will become the 47th President of the United States,” Fox News' Bret Baier said on social media.
“The former president's return is completed with his victory in Wisconsin, a state he narrowly lost four years ago. He is the second president in U.S. history to be elected non-consecutively. The first was Grover Cleveland. JD “Senator Vance will be sworn in as the 50th Vice President of the United States,” he continued.
“Voters expressed deep dissatisfaction with the Biden administration, and Mr. Trump overperformed in urban areas, especially among men.” “I broke it,” he added.
Just before 2 a.m. ET, 91% upvoted, NBC News had Trump won by 4 points in the key battleground state, or about 120,500 votes.
The victory follows a memo from the Trump campaign. released Ahead of Election Day, Democrats claimed they were facing what they described as a “significant turnout deficit” in all battleground states, including the Badger State.
In a memo at the time, Tim Saler, chief data consultant at Grassroots Targeting, said of Wisconsin specifically:
Urban turnout decreased by -100,733 votes compared to this point in 2020
Female voter turnout decreased by -238,452 votes compared to this point in 2020
“If Trump doesn't win this election, we're screwed,” Dodge County Sheriff Schmidt told the Wisconsin House Judiciary Committee a few weeks before the election, citing rampant immigration crime.
“In my 24 years in law enforcement, I have never seen this type of criminal element from outside of my home state of Wisconsin,” he added.
Exit polls in Wisconsin showed Trump winning a higher percentage of the black vote than he did four years ago.
