Donald Trump Rips ‘Total Loser’ Stephen Colbert

Donald Trump has slammed Stephen Colbert as a “total loser.” Late Show The host said he would never have “boring” Trump on his NBC show.

Trump published a Truth Social post targeting Colbert, who has seen a steady decline in viewership over the years, after Colbert dismissed the appeal of Trump appearing on television in an interview. PBS News Hour on monday.

The former president questioned why taxpayer-funded PBS would waste its time interviewing Colbert.

“I just watched a bit of the Stephen Colbert interview on the heavily government subsidized PBS and it was interesting for one reason only: Why would they waste their time and the public's money on this total loser?” Trump questioned in a post on Tuesday.

“He's not funny, and yet he's overpaid. He's not smart, he's very boring, and his show is dying of zero viewers. Cable TV's Gutfeld is killing him! CBS should terminate his contract and hire anyone on the street who can do a much better job than him for much less, or someone more talented and smarter who will do it for free. The good news for Steven is that those two idiots at NBC and ABC aren't much better than him!”

So PBS InterviewColbert was asked if he would allow Trump to appear on his show. Late Show Although there were plans to perform again in the future, the TV presenter was not interested.

“I've met him before and it was kind of boring, so no,” Colbert exclaimed, alluding to his 2015 interview with Trump. “I don't like having people on the show who are not going to express their views honestly. Politicians always represent views, so if I think a politician is being dishonest — and I'm not pointing out Trump specifically, but there are a lot of politicians I don't want to talk to who are not expressing honestly what they really believe, who are just pandering to the masses. So it's just not entertaining.”

Judging by his past guests, Colbert seems to think that non-Democrat politicians are “boring” people he doesn't want to interview, so Trump seems to be in good company on that score.

Trump correctly points out that Colbert's show is in “decline.” Late Show Viewership has been steadily declining, and this trend seems unlikely to change.

As The Hollywood Reporter recently attentionIn 2019, Colbert's show led the way with 3.81 million viewers, but last year that figure dropped to 2.6 million, a 32% decrease from the 2018-2019 season.

Colbert is not alone. Other late-night shows are also The Tonight Show and Jimmy Kimmel LiveThe ratings have plummeted as well. In fact, no other show has even managed to reach 2 million viewers.

Meanwhile, Trump is on Fox News Gutfeld! The show drew an estimated 5 million viewers, making it host Greg Gutfeld's highest-rated show to date.

So the numbers seem to give us a very clear picture of who viewers find “boring” and who they think is worth watching.

The steady and disastrous decline in viewership Born Many self-centered media watchers wonder Late night TV Dying Genre.
