Former President Trump attacked former Chairman Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), saying he should be removed from Fox’s board of directors.
“Rupert Murdoch should fire poor RINO Paul Ryan from the Fox board,” Trump wrote. Post on true social Early Thursday morning. “Ryan is a loser, always has been, always will be a loser. He was the weakest, most incompetent Speaker in the history of the House. If Paul Ryan were involved, Fox would be at the bottom of the list. Let’s go!”
Mr. Trump’s comments came a day after Mr. Ryan said at a Milken Global Institute conference that he would not vote for the former president, the presumptive Republican nominee this fall.
“Character is very important to me,” Ryan said of Trump. “And it’s a job that requires the kind of personality he doesn’t have.”
Mr. Ryan left Congress in 2019 and later joined the board of directors of Fox Corp., the parent company of Fox News.
President Trump has relentlessly attacked Fox in recent months over its coverage of him and the Republicans who challenged him for the Republican nomination.
The former president accused conservative media mogul Rupert Murdoch, who handed over control of the company to his eldest son Lachlan Murdoch last autumn, as a “globalist” trying to prevent him from becoming president again.
Many of Fox News’ top hosts remain vocal supporters of Trump and spend hours each day criticizing President Biden, his biggest political rival.
