Trump Targets Omar in Latest Truth Social Post
On Sunday night, former President Donald Trump took to Truth Social to voice his opinion regarding Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar from Minnesota. He asserted that she should either face imprisonment or be sent back to Somalia.
In his post, Trump expressed, “There is $19 billion in the Somali scam in Minnesota. Ilhan Omar, the so-called ‘Congressman’ who despises America and always complains, knows everything there is to know. She should be in jail, or worse, sent back to Somalia, one of the worst countries in the world. She can help make Somalia great again!”
Omar, who was born in Somalia and became a U.S. citizen in 2000, has represented her district in the U.S. House of Representatives since early 2019.
Additionally, Trump criticized the state of Minnesota’s response to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) efforts, claiming they were attempting to deport the most dangerous criminals. He questioned, “Why is the state of Minnesota fighting this? They really want to keep murderers and drug traffickers in their communities. The protesters include many highly paid professional agitators and anarchists. Is this really what Minnesota wants?”
Trump Accuses Walz and Omar of Distraction Tactics
In his comments, he called out Minnesota’s Governor Tim Walz, suggesting that Omar and Walz were using protests against ICE to divert attention from significant fraud allegedly occurring in the state, stating it amounted to $18 billion plus. He added, “Don’t worry, we’re working on it!”
Omar Faces Scrutiny
Omar has recently come under fire for comments she made about the U.S., which some interpreted as disrespectful. Republican Sen. Mike Lee remarked that no member of Congress should use such language regarding the country.
In response to this ongoing discussion, businessman Elon Musk chimed in, questioning what punishment should be levied for such remarks.
Fox News Digital reached out to Omar’s office on Monday for a response regarding Trump’s statements on Truth Social.
