Former President Trump is set to attend one of the most anticipated college football games of Week 5, according to political observers. Mark Halperin.
Trump, the Republican nominee for president this year, will head to Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa to watch the No. 4 Alabama Crimson Tide take on the No. 2 Georgia Bulldogs on Sept. 28.
Both the Crimson Tide and Bulldogs are undefeated, making this early SEC rivalry matchup big in terms of voting and implications for the College Football Playoff.

It's also a significant appearance for Trump, coming nearly two weeks after Secret Service agents opened fire at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, on a concealed suspect who was apparently pointing a rifle at the former president.
The suspect, Ryan Wesley Routh, fled the scene on Sunday, but Florida police surrounded his vehicle on Interstate 95 and quickly arrested him. He has been charged in federal court with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number, and more charges are expected to be filed.

Such a large public appearance at a stadium expected to draw thousands for the SEC's signature matchup poses potential security issues for the Secret Service.
But this won't be Trump's first time attending a football game in Tuscaloosa. While he was president in 2019, Trump attended the Alabama vs. Louisiana State game in November, a thrilling game in which the Tigers beat the Crimson Tide on the road, 46-41.

The situation was similar in this week's matchup, with LSU ranked No. 2 in the country and Nick Saban's Alabama ranked No. 3, and both teams undefeated at the time.
President Trump received a standing ovation from rabid Crimson Tide fans when he was spotted inside Bryant-Denny Stadium during a commercial break, and that could likely happen again in Republican-leaning states.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said Monday that lawmakers are willing to provide more resources to the Secret Service following the second assassination attempt on President Trump, which occurred at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania in July.
